Chattanooga has a notoriously very small horse community. In fact some would consider it almost non-existent, but it all depends on who you ask. If you ask an eventer, they would tell you there's no place to school XC. A dressage rider may say there’s nowhere to practice a freestyle, but if you ask a member of CPC they would probably say something much different.

Being a Pony Club member, I have learned that the extremely long, detailed list of required equipment actually has a purpose (other than stressing myself and my team out at rallies)! Yes… That’s right, it does have a purpose. Those boxes have been, on multiple occasions, my saving grace during my show and equine travels!

When I was 7 years old, I joined Pony Club with my twin sister. The motto of the USPC “where it all begins” was just a saying to me and I didn’t realize until later in life what the significance of this saying would be.

Getting in the saddle is the first step in learning to ride. In this video, Macy Chisholm, an H-B HM certified member of Ramona Vicente Pony Club (Southern California Region) demonstrates how to use a mounting block to get on your horse and safely adjust your tack in an English saddle.

Of the many opportunities offered to me through my time in Pony Club, one of my most memorable experiences was serving as an International Quiz Exchange representative in the fall of 2017.
