    Meet the USPC Academy of Achievement Class of 2020- Erin Tomson

    The USPC Academy of Achievement recognizes alumni who have attained notable success in their chosen field. Three outstanding Pony Club alumni were inducted into the Academy of Achievement for 2020. Follow along in this series as we introduce this years inductees. Erin Tomson, Ph. D. Erin Tomson is from Pullman, Washington, and was raised on her family’s horse boarding farm. She joined Palouse Hills Pony Club at the age of 7 and worked her way through the levels, earning her A certification at the age of 19.  She obtained her undergraduate degree in communication from Midway College in Kentucky, where she competed for the equestrian team in hunt seat equitation,…

David Silver David Silver is the founder and executive director of Detroit Horse Power, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches at-risk urban youth valuable life lessons through riding and caring for horses. David is an H-A graduate from Great Lakes Region Pony Club, after achieving his B certification in the Metropolitan Region. Katy Barglow is a graduate H-A (Crossroads PC, Middle California Region, 2001). She is an active National Examiner for the Dressage track and member of the NE committee, and was a youth delegate at the first National Youth Congress in 1999.     2018 Academy of Achievement and National Youth Congress Inductees Announced!

    Every year at the Equine Symposium and Convention hosted by USPC, The National Youth Congress (NYC) convenes for three days. NYC began in 1998 to recognize outstanding Pony Club Members. The NYC delegates are selected by their regions and are provided the opportunity to learn valuable life leadership skills to help them navigate their futures. This year at the 20th Anniversary Celebration 24 delegates were a part of the three-day Congress.     Founders Awards Presented at the 2018 Equine Symposium and Convention Hosted by USPC

    During the 2018 USPC Equine Symposium and Convention held January 24-28 in Louisville, Kentucky, four individuals were awarded the Founders’ Award, an honor reserved for Pony Club’s most worthy volunteers. This prestigious award is made each year to those who have made a significant contribution to Pony Club at the Local or Regional and National Levels over a period of 20 years or more. The recipients of the Founders Awards for 2018 are:Tom Adams, Kimberly Cranford, Cathy Frederickson, and Anne H. Husted. Tom Adams.     Tales of a Pony Club Saddlemaker-In-Training Part 3

    Adrienne Hendricks, H-A graduate, Boise Pony Club, in the Intermountain Region has agreed to blog her journey as an Apprentice Saddle Maker. Follow along as Adrienne shares her highs and lows of becoming a Master Saddler Here is an older saddle that needed to be re-flocked. This turned out to be a great way to show how to re flock a wool panel and also how the panels are attached to the tree.     Many Clubs meet Milestones at 2017 Equine Symposium and Convention

    Every year at USPC’s Annual Meeting clubs are recognized for their dedicated longevity with Pony Club. The Club Milestone Award is awarded when a club reaches either its 25th or its 50th anniversary. This year we had a total of fifteen clubs reach a milestone anniversary. During the Meeting of the Corporations on Saturday morning, eleven clubs celebrated their 25th Anniversary by receiving a 25 Year Club Milestone Award.
