Cooper Madden-Hennessey is an H-B from the Oakendale Farm Pony Club Riding Center in the New York Upper Connecticut Region. Cooper is a busy college student at the University of Connecticut working to balance a barn life and an academic life. He enjoys working on his farm and tending to his OTTB prospect’s every need. Cooper is also an avid competitor, competing throughout New England and at Pony Club Championships. Cooper has worked to build a Regional Youth Board within his region and also participated in the Visiting Instruction Program in 2015. Cooper’s favorite horse is by far his current mount. Tali Can Dance, is a six year old OTTB who Cooper hopes to bring up the levels. Previously, Cooper worked as a working student where he taught lessons, and worked as a stable hand and groom before going off to college. Cooper hopes to make a career out of his life-long passion. Managing his own business, he hopes to create a successful career revolving around his horses. As an active Pony Club member Cooper has gained the tools necessary to become an independent horseman and a well-established youth equestrian. Pony Club has always been an important part of his life and Cooper hopes to continue his support for the organization that laid his foundation. Teaching, organizing, and administration are a few ways he hopes to give back to Pony Club once he graduates. Beyond his love for his equine friends, Cooper takes an interest in business, economics, and traveling.

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC or Pony Club) is the largest equestrian educational organization in North America. Started in 1954, the organization has developed curriculum that teaches safe riding skills and the care of horses through mounted and unmounted lessons. Through Pony Club, members have fun with horses and make lifelong friends while they develop skills, habits, and values that extend well beyond the barn and last a lifetime. Many members apply what they have learned in the USPC program successfully in their careers, educational and volunteer opportunities, and other life pursuits.
