I am an Apprentice Saddle Maker and Pony Club (PC) has invited me to share my journey in preparing for my exams in early 2018. I have loved horses my whole life and achieved my H-A before heading off to college. I especially loved the Horse Management side of PC and thrived in Stable Management.     Many Clubs meet Milestones at 2017 Equine Symposium and Convention

    Every year at USPC’s Annual Meeting clubs are recognized for their dedicated longevity with Pony Club. The Club Milestone Award is awarded when a club reaches either its 25th or its 50th anniversary. This year we had a total of fifteen clubs reach a milestone anniversary. During the Meeting of the Corporations on Saturday morning, eleven clubs celebrated their 25th Anniversary by receiving a 25 Year Club Milestone Award. Those clubs include Brazos Pony Club (Rio Grande Region), Grand River Pony Club (Great Lakes Region), Highland Hills Pony Club (Great Lakes Region), Lakefield Pony Club (Lakeshore Region), Midland Foxhounds Pony Club (South Region), Mount Peak Pony Club (Northwest Region), Old…

    Founders Awards Presented at the 2017 Equine Symposium and Convention

    During the 2017 USPC Equine Symposium and Convention held January 26-29 in Los Angeles, California, four individuals were awarded the Founders’ Award, an honor reserved for Pony Club’s most worthy volunteers. This prestigious award is made each year to those who have made a significant contribution to Pony Club at the Local or Regional and National Levels over a period of 20 years or more. The recipients of the Founders Awards for 2017 are: Jan Jenson, Alex Weiss, Shelley Kincaid, and Claire Harmon. Jan Jenson. Jan joined Santa Cruz County Pony Club in 1974 with a leased horse “Charlie”. Her sister was in Pony Club so she “tagged along” for…

    As we all know the 2016 Rio Olympics are in full swing. Thanks to USPC staff member, Jenny Van Wieren-Page, we can share a few awesome Q & A articles with some of the US Dressage Team members who are Pony Club Graduates! Traditionally when you think of Pony Club Alumni who go on to become Olympians you think of the sport of Eventing. While, that may still be true, many Dressage Olympians also have a history of beginning with Pony Club.
