Meet your 2018 National Youth Board members- McKenzie!

USPC would like to highlight the National Youth Board Members for the current term. Today we would like to introduce McKenzie Kielman.

McKenzie is the advisor of the National Youth Board, and therefore serving a third year after holding the position of Chair. She is a member of Silver Bits Pony Club in the North Central Prairie Region, living in Waverly, Iowa. She is a Communications major with concentrations in Public Relations and Digital Cinema and minors in Creative Writing and Leadership. McKenzie looks forward to graduating in December from Wartburg College.

She’s loved Pony Club’s focus on education as she is a certified H-B, and clinicing, as she’s really enjoyed the multitude of instructors that have impacted her journey with her now 19 year old off-the-track Thoroughbred, Jones. She is a riding certified D-3 Traditional, C-1 Dressage, and C-2 Hunt Seat; having taken advantage of the opportunities to diversify. Favorite memories include riding at the Kentucky Horse Park twice for Festival and attending Midwest Championships as a Horse Manager, winning a prize for her outstanding work from a thoughtful judge.

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC or Pony Club) is the largest equestrian educational organization in North America. Started in 1954, the organization has developed curriculum that teaches safe riding skills and the care of horses through mounted and unmounted lessons. Through Pony Club, members have fun with horses and make lifelong friends while they develop skills, habits, and values that extend well beyond the barn and last a lifetime. Many members apply what they have learned in the USPC program successfully in their careers, educational and volunteer opportunities, and other life pursuits.
